Idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD) is a rare and life-threatening disorder of unknown cause. The disease can occur at any age. The manifestations of the disease are rather severe and involve multiple systems and organs including the immune cells, skin, vascular system. In this project we seek to identify genetic abnormalities that may be cause or are strongly associated with iMCD. Identification of specific genetic abnormalities will facilitate accurate diagnosis and provide opportunities for development of effective treatments for iMCD.
