MED13L Foundation

Matched Genetic Counseling Student:

Jen Borowka is a first-year student at the University of Pennsylvania’s Genetic Counseling program. 

Project:

While interning with the MED13L Foundation, Jen prepared create educational pamphlets for families affected by MED13L and providers who are unaware of the extent of the disease. One pamphlet describes the disorders, from genetic causes, all the way to presentations of the disease and therapeutic options, followed by recommendations to newly diagnosed patients. She also prepared documentation regarding the clinical features of the disease as well as the referrals needed by patients.
