Tatton Brown Rahman Syndrome (TBRS) Community
Matched Genetic Counseling Student:
Ingrid Lee is a first-year student at the University of Pennsylvania’s Genetic Counseling program.
Project:
While interning with the Tatton Brown Rahman Syndrome (TBRS) Community, Ingrid created a template for families to input information regarding their child’s TBRS diagnosis. This is used to generate letters tailored to their healthcare providers, educators, and the genetic testing community. These letters provide information including: What is TBRS? What does my child’s genetic report mean? And to educators: What are educational resources/support that my child might need? (Individualized Education Plan (IEP)). She also created a letter to be sent to genetic testing companies advocating for the addition of the DNMT3A gene to the multigene panel of the different laboratories.
